DMRC
chief E Sreedharan feels that the Kochi Metro project may be delayed and could
not be completed in the stipulated time due to impediments in land takeover.
Sreedharan
said the govt is giving full cooperation to the project and is more determined
to commission the project in 3 years time. But, due to impediments in land
takeover, it is likely to be delayed indefinitely, he said.
Sreedharan
said Kerala needs fast rails but the state is showing little interest. The LS
polls could be the reason behind this, Sreedharan said. The state govt should
implement the fast rail projects and the main attraction of this is that the
project needs only minimum land. He also added that without fast rails, Kerala
will not be able to move ahead without these.
