Seven development projects showcased to woo investors
With a very successful first phase to piggyback on, the
Vytilla Mobility Hub Society (VMHS) showcased its ambitious second phase
expansion worth Rs. 433.34 crore at the Partner Kerala investors’ meet that got
under way here on Monday.
It was one of the seven mega development projects authorities
showcased on the first day of the two-day meet scouting for possible
investments under the Private Public Partnership model.
KITCO has already readied the plan and design of the project,
which has been cleared by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.
An integrated transportation facility and a commercial
complex have been envisaged on 25.19 acres of prime land near Vyttila junction
as part of the second phase. The ground floor of the building will feature 136
bus bays built in a floor area of 1.61 lakh sq.ft complete with all types of
passenger amenities like information counters, ticket booking counters, ATMs,
clock rooms, refreshment stalls, breast feeding kiosk etc.
The open space proposed on the ground floor would allow
parking of 500 two-wheelers while the proposed basement floor of 5.50 lakh
sq.ft would have space for 1000 cars and an equal number of two-wheelers.
The proposed commercial complex would have five floors of
1.07 lakh sq.ft each. The first three floors have been designed as commercial
space while the top floors would boast of four multiplexes, food courts and
children’s party/entertainment area.
The facilities can be accessed from NH 47, NH 49 (Vyttila –
Pettah Road) and Kaniyampuzha Road. The proximity to the National Water way II
and the Ernakulam- Kottayam railway track would further boost its
accessibility.
Vyttilla station of Kochi Metro Rail is under construction on
the Mobility Hub premises and the Mobility Hub Society has proposed a walkway
connecting the Metro Rail station, bus terminal, boat jetty, basement parking
area and the commercial space to ensure smooth transit of commuters switching
from one mode to another.
While the first phase of the mobility hub made it a major
transit point for 650 private and 400 KSRTC buses serving around 25,000 people
daily, the second phase would make it one of the major transit points in the
State besides the convergence point for road, metro rail and water
transportation modes.
