Mission is to
discuss strategies to make e-governance more citizen-centric and transparent
As many as 1,000
delegates from the Union and the State governments, the corporate sector,
industry bodies and academic institutions are expected to participate in the
17th national conference on e-governance to be held in Kochi on January 30 and
31.
The conference is
being jointly organised by the Union Department of Administrative Reforms and
Public Grievances, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology
(DeitY), the State Department of Information Technology and the Kerala State IT
Mission, with Nasscom as the knowledge partner.
Theme
Based on the theme
“Vision to implementation,” the mission will provide a platform to explore
emerging opportunities and discuss strategies to make e-governance more
citizen-centric, service- oriented and transparent.
Best practices in
e-governance, emerging technologies, human capital in e-governance and the role
of ICT in transforming health are among the topics to be discussed at the panel
sessions. The speakers include J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, DeitY, R.
Chandrasekhar, president, Nasscom, Chief Secretary E.K. Bharat Bhushan, K.M.
Chandrasekhar, Vice-Chairman, Planning Board, and P.H. Kurian, Principal
Secretary, IT.
CM to inaugurate
Chief Minister
Oommen Chandy is scheduled to inaugurate the conference at Le Meridien, Kochi.
Governor Nikhil Kumar will deliver the valedictory address on January 31.
