Kerala style Kappa muthira thoran fry is a
great side dish for rice. A tasty and healthy side dish too.
Cooked tapioca (kappa) cut into small pieces
2 cup
Cooked horse gram (muthira) 1/4 cup
Small onions 5
Dry chillies 5
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1 pinch
Coriander 1/2 teaspoon
Green chillies 3
Chopped onions 1/4 cup
Coconut oil
Scraped coconut 1/4 cup
Salt
Curry leaves
When the oil is heated, season it with
coriander, cumin seeds, dry chillies, mustard and curry leaves. To this add
green chillies and small onions. When it turns brown, add chopped onions,
tapioca and muthira along with salt. Stir the mixture adding scraped coconut
too and curry leaves.
