The city police have hiked the
cash award for giving information on the man who attacked a bank employee
inside an ATM kiosk at N.R. Square in Bangalore from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.A
man attacked Jyoti Uday (44), a bank employee, inside the Corporation Bank ATM
kiosk in Bangalore on November 19 before fleeing with her ATM cards.Though the
face of the attacker was captured in the CCTV camera at the ATM kiosk, the
police have not been able to trace the man. In fact, as many as 200 police
personnel were deployed to track the man.
According to the police the
accused in the case was allegedly involved in a similar attack in Hindupur in
Andhra Pradesh and had allegedly killed a woman before fleeing with her ATM
cards. He had used the cards to withdraw money, but police of both the States
failed to make any headway in either of the cases.The photograph of the
attacker was displayed at public places and carried by regional TV channels in
Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with a request to the public for
information on the man, but in vain.
While the city police had
announced Rs. 1-lakh cash reward for information,Andhra Pradesh police
announced cash award for Rs. 2 lakh.But now the Bangalore police have hiked the
cash award to Rs. 5 lakh.
